The proMotion training program is oriented toward all female junior scholars pursuing a doctorate at TU Berlin. Female doctoral researchers from all faculties and academic chairs are welcome to participate. Please note that the program's language alternates between German (summer term) and English (winter term).

The program's goal is to support female doctoral researchers during their doctorate. Therefore, we would like to ensure that the participants are working on their doctoral projects. In order to do so, we would like the proof that you started with your doctorate already.

If if you are a teaching/research assistant (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) we need a copy of your registration with the faculty. To register, you must submit a declaration of intent to pursue a doctorate to the Doctoral Office [3] of your faculty.

If you have not registered yet and won't be able to register before the application deadline, you can submit proof of your registration at a later date. Please upload a copy of your request for registration with the faculty or write a informal explaination why you were not able to register at this point. Please tell us till what date you will be able to register. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions or problems with this part.

All other doctoral researchers must enroll in order to participate in the program.

Please make sure that you are able to attend all events of the workshop program. Participation is not beneficial if you are unable to attend the kick-off workshop. Participants who successfully participate in all workshops in full (except Doing a doctorate at TU) will receive a certificate.

The program is particularly intended for participants who are in the initial phase/mid-point of their doctorate. The program content is likewise geared toward these phases. However, other participants can be accepted if space allows. Although the program is open to female doctoral researchers of all nationalities, internationals will be given priority of participation in the English language program over German nationals if we have more applicants than places.

Please submit all application documents as incomplete applications will not be processed.

Participation is free of charge.

When selecting participants, we focus on equal representation from all TU Berlin faculties and applicants’ statements of motivation. Social criteria are taken into consideration. You will find a template for your statement of motivation on the German application site.
